CARE + CONSTRUCTION INSTRUCTIONS
FURNITURE FRAME CONSTRUCTION
Our furniture frames are crafted with solid wood. The top-tier construction ensures longevity and durability. We use Carb 2 compliant, engineered wood to further reinforce the hardwood frame. This sturdy material is composed of several layers of laminated hardwood. Each frame is joined together using corner blocks, heavy-duty staples, and industrial-strength glue.
CUSHIONS & UPHOLSTERY
When it comes to our upholstered items, our cushions are always compliant with the TB-117-2013 flammability standard. All pieces are free from flame-retardant chemicals. Our cushions also pass California Prop 65 for lead, cadmium, and phthalates testing.
TABLE CONSTRUCTION & MDF
Our tables are made from a variety of high-quality materials, including but not limited to solid wood, medium density fiberboard, metal, and stone.
The majority of our coffee and side tables are constructed of wood veneer atop medium density fiberboard (MDF) or solid wood. They are then finished with a water-based lacquer.
MDF is an engineered wood product. It is made by applying heat and pressure to compress wood fibers into a single, stable panel. MDF has several benefits over solid wood, including the fact that it does not expand and contract with humidity. As a result, it’s an excellent core under veneers, or by itself after being painted or powder-coated. Using veneers adds greater stability while reducing expansion and contraction due to humidity. Our MDF is compliant with California Air and Resources Board Phase II (CARB-2), which sets the lowest threshold in the world for formaldehyde emissions in engineered wood products.
MADE-TO-ORDER & HANDMADE VARIANCES
We work closely with our supply chain partners to ensure each product falls within our approved variance range. Minor variances in size and shape may occur, as our products are individually crafted for each order. Certain handmade products can vary in weave, fiber size, and color. Bespoke means that each product is unique, and small discrepancies can occur.
GENERAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS
If you need clarification on the maintenance of a specific material, ask us about the proper care to maximize the longevity of your piece. Each of our pieces is high-quality and constructed to last.
WOOD CARE
Wood finishes are easy to maintain. Dust your wooden surfaces regularly with a soft, dry cloth. You can use a damp cloth to remove debris, but make sure you dry the surface immediately after. Please avoid abrasive cleaners.
Note that wood finishes may change over time after consistent exposure to sunlight or other environmental aggressors. Hardware may loosen with use.
LEATHER CARE
Because leather is a natural material, changes in texture, color, or appearance may occur over time. Leather will develop a natural patina and a more comfortable, buttery feel. You can gently buff out minor scratches using a chamois cloth.
FABRIC CARE
It can take several weeks for your fabric cushions to settle and/or break in after delivery. Regular cushion rotation (if possible) can prolong the life of your upholstered furniture.
Light vacuuming is recommended to prevent dust build-up. Direct exposure to sunlight may cause fading.
